October 25th WFMS Family Message
Good afternoon WFMS Families,
We are excited to welcome some of our students in the ECS special education regional program back to campus on Monday. While in-person learning for the vast majority of our Plan B students does not begin until November 9th, we want to assure our families and students that we recognize your anxiousness and have developed health and safety protocols and set-up throughout the school to ensure a safe teaching and learning environment for our students and staff. Things will look different, but we will be sharing information, images, and videos over the next two weeks to prepare our students for their return. Our staff will work with students on the day of their return to understand new expectations and protocols, provide tours (if necessary), and make the transition back to in-person learning as smooth as possible. Below is a link containing just a few images of new protocols. As always, if you have questions, please feel free to reach out to your grade-level administrator or Dr. Bradford.
Below are updates and announcements from WFMS for the week of 10/26 - 10/30.
2nd Quarter Instructional Material Pick-Up
We are making some adjustments to our instructional materials for student pick-up, and therefore, will no longer have pick-up on Monday (10/26), Tuesday (10/27) or Friday (10/30). We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience. Pick-up will be Wednesday (10/28)and Thursday (10/29) during the following times:
October 28th: 12pm - 5pm
October 29th: 8am - 6pm
All students will need to pick up materials for the second quarter during these days. To pick up materials, please park in front of the gym and check-in with a health screener who will be stationed outside to take your temperature and ask you screening questions. A mask is required to enter the building. After the screening, please enter the gym to pick up materials.
If you are unable to attend any of the pick-up times, please contact Danielle John to schedule an appointment. Her email address is email@example.com.
Plan B Cohort Dates in the Building
Please remember in-person learning begins ONLY for WCPSS elementary school in grades K-3 and regional programs Special Education students on Monday.
Most of our WFMS students will continue to participate in Virtual Academy through November 6th. Please verify on this CALENDAR for specific dates of your child’s cohort and more information. If you have questions, please reach out to an administrator or counselor.
First Quarter final grades for students will be accessible in PowerSchool for students and families to view this Friday, October 30th. If you would like to receive a printed copy, please email our data manager, Ms. Emily Abbott.
Revised Bell Schedule for 2nd Quarter
With the return to in-person learning beginning for our regional programs Special Education students on October 26th and with the start of the 2nd quarter, we have adjusted our school hours to reflect those used by transportation. Since many of our teachers are serving both virtual and in-person students, a change for Virtual Academy and Plan B students is needed. Please review the schedules linked below with your child, so they are aware of the start times of their classes on Monday.
This information was shared earlier last week, along with information regarding student accountability for in-person learning. If you have not viewed that message, please access the link below.
