June 12th Family Message - End of School Updates

Congratulations 8th Graders

Thank you to all of the 8th grade students and families who came out on Tuesday evening to celebrate our students’ completion of the 8th grade and middle school.  We were excited to see each of you.  While we were unable to give you a “traditional” ceremony, we hope you felt loved and know we will miss you from this event.  Our staff has put together a video we hope each 8th grader will take the time to view at

We know you will make us proud as you move on to high school and you will do great things.  We will miss you, but remember you are forever a COUGAR!

6th and 7th Graders

If you did not have a chance, please check google classrooms for a short video from your teachers to celebrate your hard work during the 19-20 school year.  We are looking forward to an exciting 2020-21 school year and cannot wait to see you again.

Report Cards

Due to COVID-19, families will access their student’s grades through the Parent Portal in PowerSchool this year.  Grades were finalized on Friday, June 5th for all students.  If you do not have access to PowerSchool, you may request a copy of your child’s report card by emailing our data manager, Sabrina Porcella, at  Report cards will be sent through US Postal Mail by the end of June.

Please remember students received either a PC-19 or WC-19 based on their work prior to March 13th and any work completed during remote learning to improve their grades.  Only students in high school courses who requested a numeric grade received a numeric grade on their report cards.  If a parent has not been contacted by administration or a counselor regarding retention, your child was promoted to the next grade.

If you have questions, please reach out to Dr. Bradford or the grade-level administration for further clarification.

Return of Student Devices/Hot Spots

If your child received a device or hot spot from the school during the remote learning period, they only need to return the device if they will not be attending a WCPSS school in the 20-21 school year.  If your child will be leaving the district to attend private or charter school, transferring districts, or moving out of state, please contact Mr. Katona Thomas ( to schedule a time to drop-off the device.

Collection/Drop-Off of Items

If you were unable to come to the school on Tuesday, June 16th, or Thursday, June 18th, to drop-off items or pick any items such as your purchased yearbook, we will be able to accommodate next Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 9am – 1pm.  Boxes will be placed outside of the main entrance for students or parents to drop-off items.  Please place your name on a piece of paper inside the book and drop it in the boxes.  If you are picking-up items such as a yearbook or athletics pictures, please buzz-in at the main entrance and you will need to wear a mask as you enter the building and main office.

Summer School Hours & Teleworking

Teachers and counselors will begin their summer breaks on Monday, June 15th.  They may not be checking and responding to emails over the summer, so please be mindful of this if you send anything to them.

Administration and clerical staff will be working throughout the summer, but are still following guidelines from the state regarding teleworking, when possible.  If you call the main office and do not get a response, please email us and we will be happy to assist you.

If you need to come to the campus for any reason, please email to schedule an appointment with the appropriate person to ensure they are on-campus and we can follow state guidelines.  When possible, we will continue to conduct phone and video conferences for most meetings.
