Good afternoon WFMS families,

 

Assistant Principal Appreciation Week

This past week, Assistant Principal Appreciation Week was celebrated.  We take this moment to express our heartfelt appreciation for our incredible assistant principals. Ms. Danyka Mangum, Ms. Ebony Harris McDuffie, Mr. Eric Lockard, and Ms. Katherine Hailey constantly demonstrate dedication, leadership, and support to help make our school a safe, welcoming, and thriving place for students to learn and grow. Thank you for all you do—each and every day!

 

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

The 8th grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 10th from 5pm - 7pm.  More specific information will be shared in the coming weeks about this event. Please note that due to the size of our campus and gymnasium, there will be a limit on the number of tickets made available to each family.  A livestream of the event will be provided for 8th grade families to share closer to the event date.  Be on the lookout for more specific information soon.

 

Drama Club

There will be performances on April 24th and April 25th starting at 5 pm in the Auditorium. Admission is free. Please come out and support students who have been working hard towards this production.

Spring Pictures

Spring pictures will be taken on April 16th and 17th during students’ PE/Health class.  Flyers about the event and how to order were sent home earlier this week with students.  Please speak with your student about the day they have PE/Health  to plan accordingly for their attire if you wish for them to purchase pictures in the Spring.

 

4th Quarter Updates

As we enter the final quarter of the school year, we encourage you to take a moment to talk with your student about finishing strong—both academically and behaviorally. In the coming weeks, we will be focusing on test preparation as students get ready for their End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments in early June.

Attendance and engagement are key to success, and we ask for your support in reinforcing the importance of being present and putting forth their best effort in class each day. Encouraging positive behaviors and minimizing distractions will help ensure that all students stay on track for a successful finish to the school year.

PTSA Updates 

WFMS parents, click HERE for an important message about PTSA leadership for next school year. If we do not have parents volunteer to take PTSA leadership roles next year, many of our PTSA sponsored events and programs may not occur. Step up to make a real difference at your child's school!
