Student Data Reflection
Students are reflecting on their Quarter 3 interim grades by reviewing their progress, identifying strengths, and setting goals for improvement on Tuesday, February 25th in homeroom. This process helps them take ownership of their learning and develop strategies for success. Updated assessment scores will be sent home that day providing insight into your child's academic performance. We encourage you to discuss these reflections and support your child in achieving their goals for the rest of the quarter.
PTSA Updates
PTSA will now be having our meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm via Google Meet only. A reminder and link will be sent to all PTSA members the day before the meeting. Not a member? Join PTSA HERE.
Our next General Assembly Meeting will be on February 28th at the Black History Night Event, time of meeting TBD. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
Our PTSA just earned $1250 in funding for the PTA Connected: Be Internet Awesome program from National PTA! Let WFMS PTSA help you learn about resources and tools to help your kids stay on track online during the Be Internet Awesome workshop on Thursday April 10. #PTAProud @NationalPTA #HowWePTA
Do you or your family work for a landscaping or power washing company? PTSA could use your help for our upcoming spring Campus Beautification Day on Saturday April 12. Email us at wakeforestmiddleschoolptsa@gmail.com if you can help!

We invite you to join us in celebrating Black History Month by sharing your professional experiences with our students and supporting their performances. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire our young learners by showcasing the achievements and contributions of Black professionals in various fields, if you are interested please reach out to Ms. McDuffie (eharrismcduffie@wcpss.net) or Ms. Mangum (drmangum@wcpss.net)
Counselor’s Corner
Research indicates that during these darker, colder days of winter, many people may feel less optimistic and energetic. Exercise is an easy way to combat typical “winter blues”, especially in teens, and to increase well-being overall. Exercise releases endorphins, which help to improve one’s overall mood. Regular exercise can also lead to increased independence and confidence, as one feels stronger, more capable, and creates a positive habit for oneself. Encouraging your child(ren) to find a way to move their bodies with cardio or to strength-train up to an hour several days a week is beneficial to their well-being. If students exercise in a community with others or with their families, it also creates an opportunity to build strong social connections- a DOUBLE WIN!
WFMS Social Media
Families who have social media are encouraged to follow WFMS on Twitter (@wakeforestms), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/WakeForestMS), and Instagram (@wakeforestms) for updates.
School Communications
If you are not receiving our school updates please visit the WCPSS School Messenger site to make sure you have opted in for communication from the school. If you have opted in and changed your contact information, please reach out to Mr. Jamal Fleet (jfleet@wcpss.net) to update.
