Thanksgiving Break
We hope our families and students are having a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday break. Our campus will be closed starting at 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 26th - 6:50am on Monday, December 2nd. We look forward to seeing our students back at school on December 2nd.

WFMS Winter Dance (hosted by PTSA):
Friday, December 13, 3-5pm.
$5 per student. Tickets will be sold the week of the dance. NO ticket sales at the door. Concessions will be sold by WFMS Athletics Booster Club.

Athletics Boosters Fundraiser Information
Mark your calendars! WFMS Athletics Spirit Night will be 12/10, 4pm-8pm at Panera Bread-11665 Northpark Drive, Wake Forest NC 27587. We will be sending flyers with the students that week. A digital or physical copy must be presented for WFMS Athletics to receive 30% back! Pop in the store for a coffee, sweet treats or dinner!
Our Winter Fundraiser will be 11/30, 10am-2pm time slots currently available for Mini Family Photography Sessions. 5 digital, print ready images for $50. Just in time to make holiday cards! 50% of the sale goes back to WFMS Athletics.

Counselor Corner
The adults in young people’s lives have the privilege of serving as role models for them. While this is a privileged place, it can also feel challenging and sometimes even impossible, as adults are finding their own way, too. Adults often feel like they have to have it all together or present a perfect way of being for children, when youth actually benefit from seeing the adults in their lives problem solving as they navigate difficulties. This allows them to observe these skills in use and builds their idea of what resilience looks like. Parents and other adults are a model for what the healthy processing of emotions and coping with strong feelings during a stressful situation might look like. Sharing that you feel overwhelmed and need to think before you respond or take action is a great lesson for kids to learn. It normalizes appropriate and positive coping skills and teaches kids that not having all the answers is okay. Ultimately, this demonstrates to children that life at all ages will present challenges that they can navigate with self-confidence, not perfection.
