FVES Weekly Updates, May 4-8, 2020

It's MAY! Thank you for your continued support for our school family! Please continue to let us know how we can support you and ensure your child is able to access learning during our school building closure!

  • Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8 | I have never been more proud of our school family! All of our teachers are learning and teaching virtually with pride! They are working more hours than ever as they navigate this new learning format and taking care of these responsibilities along with their family responsibilities. Let's honor all of our teachers next week VIRTUALLY! Please click on the link here to support our PTA in this celebration!  Each day, families are asked to share the love with a cost-free action! Let's honor our extraordinary teachers with a rainbow-themed week during this temporary storm!
  • Planning for 2020-2021  | Our school numbers will be changing for next year due to the opening of South Lakes Elementary School. Several of our fabulous teachers will help open this school and/or transfer to surrounding schools in order to accommodate our new student population of 530 students.
    • In preparation for next year, we need to hear from you if you will not be returning! Each student grants us months of employment for our teachers. Please email mmcneill2@wcpss.net if you will not be returning to FVES next year.
    • Many times there are special factors that we need to consider as we place students in classrooms. Please read and follow the directions on the form to give us input to student placement for the following school year.   20-21 Classroom Environment Form
  • Student Devices and Hotspots | We have given out over 200 devices and 45 hotspots. Please email me directly hmjohnson@wcpss.net if you have an urgent need and we will place you on the waitlist for technology.
  • Feedback Requested | Thus far, we have heard from 220 parents in regards to our Remote Learning plans. Please consider completing the survey below so we can gain feedback and make adjustments during these last 7 weeks of learning.  Parent Remote Learning Survey

Wishing You Well,

Heather Johnson, Principal
