FVES Principal's Bi-Monthly Newsletter

February 15, 2019

What a wonderful first two weeks of February! Thank you for your love and kindness that you have shown to our Counselors, Bus Drivers and our Staff! We love our extended school family and are very glad that you are a part of it!

  • Attendance | Many of our families (90+) will be receiving an official attendance form letter from WCPSS regarding missed days of school. Each month we meet as a school and review our attendance data so that we can continue to provide outreach and information to all our students and families.  Please know that your child and family are so very important to us and that a huge part of student academic and emotional success is found in the student being present at school each day. If your child has been sick, please always send in a note to your child's teacher. If you have any questions regarding the WCPSS letter you receive please do not hesitate to contact us.
  • Upcoming Events | We have our Book Fair beginning February 25 and ending on March 1st. Our annual Science Night is on February 28th from 5:30-7:15 PM! Our February PTA meeting is February 22nd at 8:00 AM. We hope to see you at all of these events this month!
  • TSI-AT, State ESSA Notification | We are committed to making growth with all students, every year. We will receive assistance in making more growth with our students with disabilities. The letter here shares more about this state effort and designation.
  • 2019-2020 Classroom Environment Form | Have some special insight on your child for classroom placement for next school year? We welcome your insight through the official FVES form linked below. Please fill out the form and bring into the front office (email will not be accepted). All forms must be delivered to our front office by May 1st. 2019-2020 Classroom Environment form
  • Carpool Drop off in AM | Carpool drop off in the morning is only through the designated carpool locations. Students may not be dropped off in the mobile classroom area or dropped off where there are not adults posted for safety. Please make sure you drive to the front of the school, park and sign your child into school if you are arrive late or notice adults are not in supervisory locations.
  • Return to FVES for 2019-2020 | If you will not be returning to FVES next year for any reason, please email our Data Manager, Lisa McNeill at so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for all you do to support our wonderful school. I am very proud to be your principal.
