Principal's Bi-Monthly Message
October 16, 2018
HOLD ON for Fall and mark your calendar! October is a month full of wonderful activities here at FVES! Thank you for all you do to support our learning community!
Boosterthon | Our main fundraiser of the year will kick off on October 23rd (Pep Rally Day)! Our Fun Run will be on November 1st. Money raised this year will continue to be for playground equipment and also for technology. We are very excited about our new Boosterthon model. This new model means that we have more parents helping and therefore we keep more money at FVES instead of paying for Boosterthon staffing and programming. WOOHOO!
Book Fair | Our fall Book Fair will be held from Monday, Oct. 22 - Friday, Oct. 26th. Moonlight Reading will be Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5:30-7:00. Our theme this year is Enchanted Forest, so bring your fairy wings and your magic wands! Food trucks will be open by 5:30 and reading will be from 6:00-7:00 on this special night.
Rescheduled Picture Day | We are still waiting to hear back from Strawbridge regarding fitting a date in this fall. I will send out a specific message as soon as the new date is confirmed. Multiple schools are in need of rescheduling so we are patiently waiting for a date that will work!
Full School Day on October 31 | Due to inclement weather this year, we have a full day of instruction on October 31st (instead of a teacher workday).
October PTA Meeting | Please come join us this Friday morning (the 19th) for our monthly PTA meeting at 8:00 AM. We will meet in the Media Center and would love for you to join us!
Canceled Early Release this Friday | Our October 19th Early Release Day has been changed to a full day of instruction due to inclement weather from Hurricane Florence.
We are very hopeful that we will have many full weeks of instruction to come (without interruptions). We are so thankful for your support. We sincerely hope that your family and friends have been safe during these weather events.
