Principal Peckham's Weekly Message

Greetings  Martin Middle School families! 

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed some of this Fall weather we are finally having.

I have a couple of reminders and calendar items to prepare your for this week.

 

Reminders/Information:

This week is Fall Spirit Week! 

Each day students can participate just by joining in the dress up fun.

10/7 - Sports team shirt day. Support the sports team of your choice (middle school through pro teams)

10/8 - Character day. Dress as your favorite character from any book, t.v. show, movie, comic, or game. No masks allowed!

10/9 - Teacher workday

10/10 - Red & White day. Wear red and white to show support forsports teams at the pep rally during 8th period and our football team as they take on Daniels that night.

10/11 - Wacky Tacky day. Mix your clothes up. The uglier, the better!

 

Election Day October 8th:

MMS is a polling site for the October 8 election. Please expect extra traffic in carpool that day and limited parking in the Front Office parking lot.

 

Visiting the State Fair? 

It’s almost that magical time of year when we all trek to the North Carolina State Fair.Did you know that Martin MS can benefit from your family trip? This year’s fair will run Oct. 17-27, and if you purchase advance tickets online, and enter the Martin MS school code, we will receive $2 for each adult ticket and $1 for each child ticket.

Visit this link to buy tickets and enter Martin’s code #492 under “Membership” at checkout. This promotion is only available for advance tickets, which must be purchased before midnight on Oct. 17.

10/8:Volleyball Daniels@MMS

10/8: Girls Soccer Daniels@ MMS

* Home games start at 4:00pm. Cost to get in is $5 unless you have a Big Red Pass.

10/9: Teacher Workday- No School for Students.

10/10: Football MMS vs. Daniels @ Broughton 6:45pm.

(Martin band will also be performing w/Broughton HS band)
