Principal Peckham's Weekly Message

Greetings  Martin Middle School families!

We had another fantastic week on the Ranch!

I look forward to seeing many of our 7th and 8th graders tonight at the dance. Reminder that cost is $5 at the door at the event runs 6:30-8:30pm.  Please plan to drop off and pick up your student at the gym entrance, and arrive promptly. This is a casual, social opportunity for our 7th and 8th grade students and we would ask you to remind your young adults that all school rules will apply.

Below are some reminders and calendar items to prepare your for next week.

Reminders/Information:

Reflections Contest!

Does your student have a creative side just waiting to come out?  Well, we have the opportunity for them to show this creativity!  The National PTA's REFLECTION program  encourages students to explore your creativity through 6 areas: Visual Arts, Dance/Choreography, Photography, Film Production, Literature and Music Composition. The theme this year is LOOK WITHIN or MIRA DENTRO.  You can get student entry forms with directions and flyers from the office  Entries are due by October 25th! Any questions?  Email the reflections committee, that email is located on the flyer. Good Luck and get creative!"

7th Grade Families- Immunization Deadline approaching!

The deadline for 7th grade immunizations is September 27th.  Students who do not have the Tdap and Meningococcal  vaccines by the 27th will not be allowed on campus. We still have about 50 7th grade students who need to submit proof of vaccinations this week.  Please call our Student Services Office if you have any questions.

Sick Student?

It is Cold and Flu season, Please take caution and keep your kids home when they are sick. According to Health Services, and student with a fever of 100 degrees F or higher are required to stay home until they have been fever free (without taking any fever reducing medication) for at least 24 hrs. We want all our students to be safe and rested, and keep any viruses and other illnesses from spreading.

6th Grade Mixer- Sept. 25th

All 6th graders are invited to attend a 6th grade only social event next week (Sept.25th)- from 2:30-4:30.  It will include games and other activities run by our Student Council. Cost to cover the event and snacks is $5 and students will need to make sure they are registered by Tuesday, Sept. 24th so that we have enough materials.
