Principal Peckham's Weekly Message

Greetings  Martin Middle School families!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful spring break and enjoyed some relaxation and family time while on break from school. We are headed into the home stretch of the 2018-2019 school year and have just over 7 weeks to finish strong!

I have some calendar highlights and reminders as we get back into the swing of things.

Reminders/Information:

Lost and Found!

Our lost and found is overflowing and it is time to come by and claim your items! If you believe your student has lost a lunch box, jacket, sweatshirt, etc. over the last few months, please send them by the front office to double check for it.  We will be donating any unclaimed items to charity if they are not picked up by May 1st.

Panorama Parent Survey!

It time again to engage our parent community in a yearly feedback opportunity. All parents should have received emails went out recently with a link to this year's Panorama survey! Each link is custom just for you- so please check your inbox or spam folder if you haven’t seen it yet! Let us know how your experience has been at MMS this year. It takes about 10-15 minutes.

Carpool Reminders

Just a few reminders as we dive back into the drop off and pick up procedures. Parents should plan to participate in the full carpool line. Students should not be dropped off in the loading dock area by the cafeteria, nor should parents be pulling into the parking spots close to the entry from Ridge Road. Once this occurs, parents not following procedures have to re-enter the carpool line which slows down the flow for everyone and many of those spots are reserved for staff to ensure we are prepared for students at the start of first period. Carpool drivers should also be mindful that they should not be coming from Lake Boone Trail and trying to go left into the school line. Please continue down Lake Boone and enter the school from Ridge Road to Horton Street.  Adherence to these procedures will greatly improve efficiency in our carpool line, and decrease the back ups that have begun to increase this spring.
