Mustang Madness is almost here!

Good evening Martin Middle School famlies,

I just have a quick voicemail tonight with 2 reminders as we close out the week.

Vote for one of our NC School Heroes!

In case you haven’t heard about it in the media last week, the North Carolina Lottery is funding a “School Heroes” program through their website and social media. Teachers and school staff across the state can be nominated and the winners will receive $10,000 for themselves and another $10,000 cash prize for their school.  Three of our very own staff members: Mrs. Reppi, Ms. Allen and Ms. Lamb, have all been nominated and I HIGHLY encourage all of our community to go the link below, or at ncschoolheroes.com right now! You can vote once per day on every device between now and March 31st. You can also nominate another Mustang for this honor, as there is no limit to the number per school. Get out and rock the vote, and let’s get one of these outstanding staff members recognized as a NC School Hero!

Friday is Mustang Madness! (Doors open at 5:30, events start at 6:00)

This is just a mid-week reminder to keep those lunch raffle donations for Mustang Madness coming! The race for the team pizza party is tight- Innovators are leading 7th, Top floor in 8th, and Mantas are leading 6th. For Thursday and Friday, a 5-Day Patio Pass (for the student and 2 friends) will be raffled off for 1 student at each grade level!! This is our only BIG RED BOOSTER fundraising event of the year and all the proceeds raised at this event go to support all of the awesome arts and athletic groups within the school. The money from last year funded several new instruments for the band and orchestra, repairing the keyboards and guitars for our elective classes, the Spring Musical, costumes and technology equipment for our Arts classrooms, new uniforms for our sports teams.

We hope you can join us Friday for all the fun: The admission is $5 and you will get to see performances from our Dance, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Chorus students. There will be a  staff vs. student basketball game, and staff vs. student “rodeo ball” game, as well as a performance by our cheer team. There will also be silent auction items you can bid on at the event in addition to the prizes raffled off. You can send money in with your student or buy tickets online using the link below or by visiting MartinMustangMadness.com.

That is all I have for your tonight.  I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Yours,
