Principal Peckham's Weekly Message
Good evening Martin Middle School families,
It was a wonderful last week of November! I appreciate everyone “rocking the vote” for our Martin chorus this week as heping our student move into the finals and compete for the title. Though there is no doubt in my mind they are the best chorus!- we did finish 3rd in the overall vote gathering. This is still a major accomplishment and the Martin Choral program receives $1000 cash prize. If you didn’t get the chance to hear them, please visit the wralfm.com site to hear their submission, because there is no doubt - they sounded amazing and we are so proud of their gifts and talents.
Thank you to all of our families who came out to the PTA meeting last night, and visited with our representatives from Broughton and Enloe. It was a excellent turnout and we appreciate you taking time out of your schedules. We will have our third PTA meeting in February and more details will be coming after the holidays.
Speaking of Holidays- Our Martin students are all about giving back to the community and we know that holiday times can be especially good times to give. Our student council is hosting a Toys for Tots Toy Drive all next week. All students are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy, and turn it in to their Homeroom student representative in their first period class. While the generous act is reward enough, we do love a healthy competition to keep the energy up- so in each grade level the homeroom that collects the most toys will win a doughnut party for their class.
Again, the Toys for Tots Drive will run next Monday thru Friday and all toys will be turned into the HR reps in First period.
New Holiday Spirit wear is available now for pre-order only until December 5th. In- stock spirit wear is available for purchase on -line as well. All items can be seen and ordered following the link on the Martin PTA Website and the Martin homepage, Be sure to see the new styles and place your orders today!!!
