FCCLA Wins Gold In Their 1st Year at HMS!
On Thursday, April 6, 2017, HMS FCCLA members won gold at the State Leadership Conference in Greensboro, NC and qualified for the National Competition in Nashville, TN.
In our first year of affiliation at HMS, our FCCLA chapter members Diana La, Evan Weaver and Harmony Harris all won gold medals in their respective events at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Greensboro, NC.
Diana La competed as an individual and won gold in the Life Event Planning Event. Evan Weaver and Harmony Harris competed as a team and won gold in the Sports Nutrition Event. Evan and Harmony also qualified with the highest score in their event to compete at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in July in Nashville, TN. Students from across the country will compete in Nashville in this prestigious FCCLA competition!
FCCLA is the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for Family and Consumer Science (FACS) students. FCCLA is a national organization that promotes leadership through STAR Events competitions each year. Students who become chapter officers, state officers and national officers in FCCLA are eligible for scholarships from prestigious colleges such as Johnson & Wales University.
