Principal's Weekly Message 4-11

Hello this is Kathryn Hutchinson, principal at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School, with your weekly message. This message can be found on our website.

I am very proud of our students this first full week on Plan A. Thank you for supporting and preparing the students to continue to work towards being safe throughout the day and follow all safety protocols and procedures. We look for your support to continue to remind them to take care and listen carefully to the guidelines that we must follow.

Monday this week is a teacher workday for the end of the quarter which means, no school for students on Monday. And Wednesday is an asynchronous day. This means that students will continue their learning at home on Wednesday virtually. All sixth graders will have their final rotation of electives as well. They should see the Google Classroom invitation by Monday afternoon for their new classes.

Elective Registration for Rising 7th and 8th graders is due April 16th and instructions may be found on the Student Support Services Webpage, under the Rising 7th and 8th Grade Registration link. Face to face students will be registering in their advisory classes next week in person. Virtual academy students will receive information in their advisories to register at home. If you have any questions, there is also login information for our Virtual Parent Registration Question and Answer session on Thursday, April 15th at 11:30 am or 7 pm on our website. There will be a Spanish Interpreter available as well.

Popcorn selling is here. This is our PTSA’s biggest and only main fundraiser of the year! All students and families will have an opportunity to sell popcorn. Everything will be hands free and virtual. Popcorn will be delivered directly to those purchasing. Our school PTSA will receive 50% of the profits. Check out the details at the PTSA website. It is quick event with selling only until April 12th.

PTSA is hosting another Virtual Game Night event on Wednesday, April 14th. More information on the PTSA website.

And remember the last date to order yearbooks this year is April 15. Please check out our website for more information.

This month the 8th-grade counselor, Ms. Jess Maskulka, will be presenting information to all 8th graders to teach strategies and skills to help your student remain emotionally and physically safe. To learn more about these sessions, go to our website and the Student Services section. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Maskulka.

Thank you for your support of Centennial Campus Magnet where we H.O.W.L. with Red Wolf Pride. Have a great week. Stay well and stay safe.
