Principal's Weekly Message 11-15

Hello this is Kathryn Hutchinson, principal at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School, calling with your weekly message. This message can be found on our website.

I want to send a great thank you to our students who attended face to face this past week. I also want to thank all of our students who continued to learn from home. Your patience as we all learn this new way of attending school was inspiring.

This next week our PTSA together with our Student Council would like to take the opportunity to Thank your Teacher. Join us as we celebrate the amazing teachers who have supported everyone through a strange and complicated year.  Students can send their teacher a joke, turn on their camera in class, or even support the school by purchasing much-needed school supplies off of the CCMMS Wishlist.  See our website or PTSA website for the daily suggestions for celebrating our teachers!

This Thursday, November 19 from 6-7 pm, our PTSA would like to host our first virtual game night for students and families!  Join us online as we participate in either an AMONG US Battle Royale, or a challenging Trivia contest!  More details  can be found on the PTSA website.

This week ahead we will invite Cohort A/1 students only back onto campus. Remember that you if you are not in Cohort A/1, you must continue to attend classes virtually throughout the week. Cohort A/1 will attend Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. If you are unsure what the dates your student attends school face to face, please see our website. Cohort A/1 students should plan to bring all materials including their technology to school every day.

Wednesday will be a district wide asynchronous day. This is still a school day and students must attend each of their classes to complete asynchronous work posted in their Google classrooms. There will be no live instruction on Wednesday. Attendance will be taken by the work completed. Please encourage your student to complete all work by the end of the school day. If they have any questions, remember their teachers are available through the Google stream and email.

The counselors will have academic support office hours on Wednesday, from 12 pm - 1 pm. Students may check their advisory Google Classroom pages for the log in information.

It is important for our carpool families to understand that their student must wait in the car until a health screener comes to the car and completes the screening. Carpool in the morning will run from 7:05 to 7:30. Face to face students need to be in the building by 7:30 to begin their Pack Time.

Remember families that it is critical that you follow the health and safety guidelines, do not come to school if your student has a temperature or is presenting any symptoms. If you have been asked to quarantine, please do not plan to attend school face to face. These guidelines will help our whole community to remain safe.

At the end of the day, if you are picking up your student through carpool, please help your student remember their carpool number. Dismissal begins at 2:15 and all students must be picked up prior to 2:30.

One final reminder that breakfast and lunch are provided for any student. No ID number is necessary to pick this food up.

Thank you for your continual support of Centennial Campus Magnet where we H.O.W.L. with Red Wolf Pride. Have a great week. Stay well and stay safe.
