ACT Information Update
All eligible 11th grade students should have received this email from Mrs. Arwood on Tuesday, 2/21 with important information, including a link to the form to request a calculator.
Mrs. Arwood will be delivering personalized letters with instructions and an access code for setting up a MyACT account. Students should receive their letters by Friday, March 3rd.
All students are strongly encouraged to set up a MyACT account now so they can access results once they are released and as needed in the future. Students have the option of sending their score report to up to 4 colleges free of charge. However, this request must be made in the MyACT account before March 23rd.
Students should check their email regularly for any updates. All future communication about the ACT, including room assignments for test day will be sent via student email.
Additional information about the ACT, including a free practice test and detailed instructions for setting up a MyACT account can be found here.
Please reach out to Mrs. Arwood at karwood@wcpss.net if you have additional questions about the ACT.
Teacher Workday
Tuesday, March 7th is a Teacher's Workday. Students will return on Wednesday, March 8th.
Safe driving around Leesville Road Campuses (repeat)
We have had increasing incidents and reports of unsafe and aggressive driving around our campus during the arrival and dismissal periods. Most of these reports involve our students, but some reports have included adult drivers. An accident occurred on Friday morning due to unsafe, aggressive driving actions of one of the motorists. I am asking that each of us take steps and measures to talk with our students and remind them of the importance of driving safely and following the rules of the road to minimize opportunities for accidents to occur.
Parking at Middle and Elementary Schools (repeat)
Since the return from winter break, we have had several complaints from the elementary and middle schools of students parking illegally. Please be aware that the principals have notified us that they reserve the right to have cars towed that are parking without authorization on their campuses.
Food Deliveries Through Third Party Vendors Reminder (repeat)
To maximize the safety and security of our students, food deliveries from vendors such as Doordash, Grubhub, etc. are not allowed. Parents can drop food off for their student during the designated lunch time they are assigned. This expectation has been in place since the beginning of the school year and remains in force.
Thank you for your continued support of Leesville Road High School, where we take PRIDE in everything we do.
