Safe Arrival to School
It is important for the safety of all drivers approaching the campus that the rules of the road are always followed. It has been reported that drivers approaching Pride Way from Pinecrest Road are creating, in effect a separate through lane at O’Neal towards Leesville Road. This is not safe and increases the likelihood of an accident at the intersection of O’Neal and Pride Way.
Labor Day Holiday
There will be no school on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day. Students will return on Tuesday, September 6.
General PTSA and Senior Parent Meetings
The PTSA will hold a general meeting beginning at 6 pm on Tuesday, September 13. Immediately following the PTSA meeting, there will be a Senior Parent Meeting sponsored by our Counseling and Student Services Department. Both events are in the Auditorium.
False Alarms
We have had four false fire alarms over the course of this week, requiring the Raleigh Fire Department to be dispatched on each occasion. Repeated dispatches will eventually cost the school financially. These false alarms more importantly cause disruptions impacting our instructional day. Each of these incidents are the result of students vaping in the restroom. This behavior has not and will not be tolerated at our school and students who are responsible and identified will be disciplined to the maximum extent possible, up to long-term suspension. Please take an opportunity to discuss this matter with your student and the importance of reporting inappropriate behaviors to staff members and administrators to ensure that we maintain a safe and orderly environment.

While the project is on schedule, adjustments have become necessary for sports utilizing the stadium. After meeting with the construction crew and planners this past Wednesday, the confirmed resumption of stadium occupancy is the week of September 26.
