Spring Semester Virtual Open House
Open House for the Spring semester will be Thursday, January 28 beginning at 6 pm. Due to current conditions, this will be a virtual event. Teachers will post introductory videos to their virtual classrooms no later than Monday, January 25 for you to view in advance of Open House. Opportunities to ask general questions of teachers based on the introductory videos will be available during Google Meet sessions on January 28 using an abbreviated bell schedule.
Schedule:
6:00-6:15 - 1st period
6:20-6:35 - 2nd period
6:40-6:55 - 3rd period
7:00-7:15 - 4th period
Prior to Open House on January 28th, families should:
- Look-up their child’s schedule in PowerSchool or have their child share their schedule.
- View each class video.
Virtual Academy Requests
As we approach the beginning of the new semester and with COVID numbers on the rise, we have seen an increase in requests to switch from in-person to Virtual Academy. Although we cannot guarantee placement into Virtual Academy, we can entertain the request prior to the start of the semester and look into the potential for a swap. After January 20, we will not be able to move students to Virtual Academy, as it would cause a change to their entire schedule. If you are considering requesting a switch, please do so by this Wednesday, 1/20, by emailing me at isolomon@wcpss.net.
Cohort Assignment Change Requests
To ensure all safety guidelines are met and cohorts are balanced, we will accept cohort change requests through Wednesday, January 20. Please be advised that we may not be able to adjust your cohort based on scheduling restraints and space availability.
