Explore STEM program for high school students with disabilities on Feb. 24 or Feb. 26

catalystCatalyst is a free, national award-winning program for high school students with disabilities who are interested in STEM careers. It is located in The Science House on the campus of N.C. State University.


Catalyst is open to high school students with a disability who attend regular education classes or who are enrolled in the Occupational Course of Study program.


The program includes:

  • Week-long summer session in July
  • Monthly Saturday sessions during the school year
  • One overnight field trip
  • Hands-on labs and research in a wide range of STEM fields
  • Paid STEM internships

Those interested in participating this summer and during the 2022-23 school year should try to attend one of two upcoming open house events:

  • Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. (Virtual) 
  • Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m (In-person at The Science House)
