The Project SEARCH program is a unique one-year school-to-work program specifically for Wake County Public School System high school students with disabilities whose goal is competitive employment.
The program takes place at Embassy Suites Raleigh-Durham/RTP in Cary, where total immersion in the workplace facilitates the teaching and learning process, as well as the acquisition of employability and marketable work skills.
Program interns are on-site at the business the full school day for the entire academic year. They will engage in three internships to explore a variety of career options.
The program provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent living skills to help students with disabilities make successful transitions from school to productive adult life. The goal for each intern is competitive employment in an integrated setting following completion of the Project SEARCH program.
Applications must be submitted by Jan. 17. Download the application form.
