We wanted to let you know that due to an unexpected number of driver absences, some students did not receive transportation service today.
If you did not receive an introduction call from your transportation vendor because your route did not have a driver, we sincerely apologize. We are committed to providing safe and reliable transportation. We will review today’s service with all our transportation vendors and where needed, make improvements.
For families who are still awaiting service: Please know that the vendor is working on assigning a new driver to your child’s route. Once a driver is identified, you will first receive a phone call so you know when to expect your child’s driver. For some families, it may take several days to resolve this issue.
If a driver has not been identified and you must transport your child to school yourself, WCPSS will reimburse you for mileage at the standard federal reimbursement rate if you are able to transport your child to and from school. We will provide details in the coming days.
Please know we are working to resolve these issues to provide service to affected families as quickly as possible.
