Meet Hearing Impaired Teacher Samantha Beard

Samantha Beard serves students with hearing impairment in eight Wake County Public School System schools: Barwell Elementary, Brassfield Elementary, Brier Creek Elementary, Pleasant Union Elementary, Sanford Creek Elementary, Sycamore Creek Elementary, Carroll Middle and West Lake Middle schools.

She also uses her artistic talents to raise funds for Signs for Hope, a non-profit that connects deaf or hard-of-hearing children with families who wish to adopt them.

That's why she was featured as part of Disability History and Awareness Month in October.
