The last week of the third quarter is Tuesday. There will be no school on Wednesday, April 10th for a teacher workday.

 

New Assistant Principal

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Erin Hatch as our new assistant principal! She has been an educator in North Carolina since 2001. During that time she has served as a secondary English teacher, an elementary teacher and, most recently, an administrator. Ms. Hatch earned her Master's degree in School Administration from NC Central University where she was part of the Principal Fellows Program. Her first day will be Monday, April 8th. 

 

Single Subject Acceleration Registration is Now Open Until April 12th at 5:00pm

Registration for SSA Tests is now open and continues until 5 pm on April 12, 2024. All requests must be submitted through the Google Form found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdzUbuoKo-JVsnOiPfrt8-tVG0FCuzU7Gp1DlrrUqQHx_3N2A/closedform. This form was created and will be monitored through the school system. We will not have access to view or confirm submissions from Weatherstone. You should receive a confirmation of your submission from the school system. Please save this confirmation for your records.

 

Make sure to view the Parent Presentation. You will be asked in the form if you have read all of the information included there.

Planning for the 2024-2025 School Year - Response Requested

We have begun planning for the 2024-2025 school year. We are asking that all families share if they intend to return to WES next year. Having an accurate student enrollment projection helps us to determine the number of classes we need in each grade level. Please share your plans using this form: https://forms.gle/xtb4SjSh51AEXoUE9 

 

You may also use this form to provide input for your child’s classroom learning environment for next year if you wish. This information should describe the characteristics of the classroom learning environment you think would be best for your child. We will take this information into consideration as class lists are developed. Responses which include teacher names will not be accepted. Classroom teacher input will also be considered. 

 

The deadline to complete this form is Friday, April 26th.

 

April 8th Eclipse

There will be a viewable eclipse in our area the afternoon of April 8th. Due to safety and logistical concerns, we are not going to watch it outside as a school. If parents so choose, they may sign their children out early to go home and observe the eclipse.

 

Monday, April 22nd Sprit Day for Earth Day!  

Let’s show our school spirit and go full recycle, reduce, and reuse at Weatherstone Elementary School! Let your inner Explorer go wild with innovation, creativity, and originality. Design any item of clothing using any recycled materials. Create an item of clothing using previously used materials.  This could be a hat, t-shirt, shoes, bag, or even jewelry. Don’t have a recycled item? 

Wear blue or green to show your spirit of keeping a cleaner Earth.
