STEM Land is Tomorrow!

STEM Land is tomorrow! We are excited about bringing back this WES tradition! Please come participate in STEM related activities and see demonstrations throughout our school. Here is the schedule of events:

10:00-1:00 Activities in the classroom

12:45 Masked Readers revealed in the gym

1:00 PTA general meeting immediately followed by a Mad Science demonstration in the gym

10:30-2:00 Food trucks: Will & Pop’s and Funnel Queens

Mad Science After School Offering

Mad Science is coming to Weatherstone Elementary! In this introductory STEM program, kids explore a variety of introductory topics and learn about the wonders of both the life and physical sciences. They explore themes and answer questions like “What makes your hair stand up?”, “Is it a magnet or magic?” and “Just what are carbs, anyway?” See more in this fun video!

Help Needed!

1) There are still many volunteer spots open!  We especially need passport stampers for when the students visit each activity.  There is a job for everyone. If you can, please sign up for a shift here.

2) We also need donations for tasty treats to keep our Cake Walk circle rockin’ all day long. Please sign up here.

PTA General Meeting

This meeting will be held on Saturday February 3rd at 1pm in the Gym (during STEM Land). We will have a few updates, along with a special guest, Mad Science, who will be doing a Demo for us around 1:10pm. All are welcome to attend.

Penny Wars

The war is over! It has been a week of fun competition between grade levels. Piggy banks were raided for silver coinage to sabotage the winning grade’s points and pennies were dumped by the handful. Second grade stole the show early in the week, but last year’s winners took the lead mid week before kindergarten won it today!  

WES Spirit Rock

Positivity Project (P2)

The strength of this week was Forgiveness. Next week is Other People’s Mindset - Cheering others’ success. What does this mean? When other people do well, you are happy for them and encourage them. Visit the PTA website to learn more!
