Transportation Updates
Thank you for your partnership with carpool. Our dismissal times have steadily decreased all week. Remember, it is right turn only when leaving our carpool line. Students should generally know how they are going home each day. If a change does need to be made, please let us know by 3:00 pm so we can make sure the students go to the proper place.
WES Before and After School Programs
Are you in need of childcare before or after school? It is not too late to sign-up for our great programs here at WES. You may find full program details and registration information at: https://www.wcpss.net/domain/11147.
AIG Information for Parents of 4th and 5th Grade Students
Nominations for AIG evaluation of 4th and 5th grade students are accepted all year. If referred for further evaluation, students are tested during one of two testing windows, either October or January. To nominate your student for AIG evaluation, please email Kathleen Christopher at kchristopher@wcpss.net. Include your child’s first and last name, grade level, and homeroom teacher along with the nomination request.
Nominations for fall testing will be accepted until 8 am on October 2, 2023. The fall testing window is October 16th to the 27th. Nominations received after October 2nd at 8 am will be considered for the second testing window, January 29, 2024 through February 9, 2024.

Tutoring Opportunity
Last week we shared a tutoring opportunity with you. There are still some spaces available if you are interested. Raleigh Charter High School Two Steps Organization is a tutoring and mentoring program that has partnered with Weatherstone Elementary School to provide free weekly virtual tutoring to Weatherstone students! WES Edible Garden Fall Cleanup!!
Join us on Saturday September 9th from 8-10am to help us clean up and prep our WES Garden! Bring the whole family along with your garden tools (shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, etc.). This is a really fun event for kids of all ages! Stay for as long as you're able to. We greatly appreciate your help, thank you!

Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day will be Wednesday, Oct 4th. Please mark your calendars and be on the lookout for more details.
RUNNING CLUB IS BACK FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
Weatherstone Endurance Superstars (aka Running Club) is back for the 2023-2024 school year. Join us WEDNESDAY(note the day change) mornings from 8:15-8:45 a.m. as we lace up and work towards completing a marathon by the end of the school year. Participation is open to all grades.
**Please note Kindergarten and 1st grade parents must stay with their children.
Students will walk, jog or run around the track and keep count of the distance completed. If interested, and only if your child is planning to attend, register and complete the waiver no later than Friday OCT 6th.
