Grades 3-5 End of Grade Testing
Today was the first day of end-of-grade testing. Testing will continue next week. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time. All students who are testing may receive free breakfast from the cafeteria that day. If your child has a smart watch, please leave it at home on testing days.
All Library Books Due Today
All WES library books are due today. Please be sure to check at home for any books.
Know Your Child’s Bus Route Number
During the past two weeks, we had several afternoon bus routes not run due to no driver being available. When this happens, we will send out a message as soon as we are informed by WCPSS Transportation. If you aren’t sure of your child’s bus route number, please ask your child today. This way you will know immediately if the canceled route impacts you.
Field Day Information
We are one week away from field day! On Friday June 2, 2023 we will be holding our annual field day at Weatherstone Elementary School. It is an all day event. Grades k-2 will be attending from 9:30-12:00, and grades 3-5 will be attending from 12:30-3:00. Students will have the opportunity to participate in many different events as a reward for all their hard work this year. Below is some general information:
1. Please provide your child with a water bottle and a change clothes. The students will be outside for an extended period of time (2.5 hours), and although some events are water events, the beginning of June is typically hot. Feel free to apply sunscreen to your child in the morning before school. Grades 3-5 will be in the afternoon.
2. This year the PTA is providing push pops. Feel free to donate to your class if there is a student with allergies.
3. If you registered to volunteer, please check in at the registration table about 15 minutes before your designated time. The registration table will be located outside the Gym. There will be a description of your event and a map when you check in.

The WES PTA would like to thank all the WES families and students for helping to make Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week a great one! Thank you to all those who donated snacks to stock the teacher’s lounge. We were able to provide them with lots of tasty treats!
