Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! In this welcome letter, you will find important information about Meet the Teacher, transportation, and much more.

Meet the Teacher

 

Meet the Teacher will be held in-person at Weatherstone on Thursday, August 25th. Kindergarten-2nd Grades will be held from 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM and 3rd-5th Grades will be held from 12:30-2:00 PM. This year an email will be sent the day before from your child’s teacher to the email address(es) that are in Powerschool. 

 

Kindergarten Staggered Entry

 

All WCPSS Kindergarteners will only attend school one day during the first week. We will use student last name to determine which day your student attends the first week:

Monday, August 29th- Last Names A-D

Tuesday, August 30th- Last Names E-M

Wednesday, August 31st- Last Names N-S

Thursday, September 1st- Last Names T-Z

 

2022-2023 School Supply Lists Posted Online

 

The 2022-2023 school supply lists are posted on our website. Please note that the list is the same for 3rd-5th grades.

 

WCPSS Transportation

 

WCPSS will post the school bus routes on the WCPSS Transportation website on August 19th. Please visit http://www.wcpss.net/domain/30 for more information or to sign up for service for new bus riders.

The 2022-2023 WES Theme is Game On!  Welcome to the Next Level.  Check out the NEW WES SPIRIT WEAR with the theme as well as lots of other exciting options and accessories and get yours today!  Purchase WES Spirit Wear HERE  We will have samples as well as shirts to purchase at “meet the teacher” but encourage you to purchase through our website if possible! 

 

Spirit Night

 

Do you have a child who plays Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, or Minecraft?  If yes, join us for our first spirit night of the year at Triangle Esports Academy on Friday, August 19th from 6:00-8:00pm.  Kids have fun, meet WES parents and support the school!  Sign up HERE.

My School Bucks


Meal Viewer

With a MySchool Bucks account paying for school meals is easy. Go to www.MySchoolBucks.com or call (855) 832-5226 to enroll. You'll need your child's PowerSchool number, available in your registration materials or at your school. Once your account is established you may:


  • Securely deposit funds to your child's account

  • Check balances

  • Set spending limits



Menus are available on our interactive Meal Viewer website that gives you the flexibility to:


  • View 5 weeks of menus for breakfast and lunch

  • Set up multiple profiles at the schools of your choice

  • See any menu changes posted by the manager at each site

  • Choose menu items based on allergens 

  • View nutrients and carbohydrate count for each menu item

  • Add nutrients for meals eaten, even partial meals

  • Submit ratings on your favorite items

  • Download the app

Transportation


Here Come the Bus App

WCPSS Transportation provides families of students who ride a yellow bus to school with a free bus tracking system called Here Comes the Bus.  


Here Comes the Bus translates GPS data into an easy to use customizable map that works on a computer, tablet or smartphone. The app allows you to see where the bus is and how close it is to your stop. 


Get started with Here Comes the Bus at https://herecomesthebus.com/parents/get-started/. You will need the district code and your student’s ID number to sign up. For your smartphone or tablet, download the Here Comes the Bus app from the App Store or Google Play.


The WCPSS school code for Yellow Bus is 67500.  The WCPSS school code for Vendor Transportation Services is 67501.
