Explorer Express for 5/11/20

Hello Weatherstone Families!  This week we have made some updates to our Explorer Express and our Remote Learning Supports.  As our amazing staff also continues to learn during this period of Remote Learning, we have tried to simplyfy reources for families.  We also have updated the WES Remote Learning Schedule and will removed links to previous weeks.  This should make finding resources easier for families.  Here is a link directly to this week's Weekly Links (Positivity Project Lessons, Spirit Week, Counseling Lessons, Morning News) and this week's Special's Lessons

Each EE will now have 4 main sections of Support: Academic, Social Emotional, Fun Activties, and Technology.  Please take a minute to review the links below expecially our new CASS Corner Newsletter, the WES Remote Reading Challenge and this week's Virtual Spirit Week.

Let’s PARTY!  (Pick Anything and Read To Yourself) at Home

There are lots of fun ways to read so lets get our schoolwide Reading Challenge started.  Read books of your choice and read how you choose.  Then fill out this Let's Party Remote Learning  Reading Challenge form. You only need to fill out the form once a week.  Let’s see if we can meet our school's goal of 8,000 books read by May 29th!  Look for weekly updates on the Weatherstone Facebook each Friday after the morning news.

Share any photos of you reading with  Or @WESMCWhalen Ms. Whalen (Media Specialist)

WES Virtual Spirit Week

5/11  Motivational Monday: Wear a shirt with a positive message or image.

5/12  Tropical Tourist Tuesday: We can’t travel to a tropical island, but bring the tropical island to your home.  Dress in your favorite tropical attire.

5/13  National Dance Like a Chicken Day: Today is officially National Dance Like a Chicken Day so show us your best chicken dance.  If you aren’t embracing the chicken,  just have a dance party!

5/14  Tie Dye Thursday: Wear your favorite tie dye clothes.  If you don’t have any tie dye wear something neon.

5/15  National Do Something Nice for Your Neighbor Day: Do something kind for a neighbor or friend to brighten their day (make them a card or poster, write a thoughtful message on their driveway with chalk, or even simply wave, smile, and say hello!)

Technology Support

If your family is in need of technology support please reach out to your child's teacher, Mrs. Whalen (Media Specialist) or Mrs. Zoller (STEM Cooridnator) and they will make sure to help you or your student.
