Positivity Project Character Strength: Creativity

Creative people can look at the world in original ways; they are open to new experiences and have an imaginative and independent thought process. Those with the strength of creativity have the urge to create and build something new and original. The act of creating itself makes them happy. On a group level, creativity is vital. It helps us solve seemingly impossible problems, create something we never knew we wanted, or simply see the world in a new way.
Creativity is a strength that often comes naturally to children because creative people can look at the world in new and original ways. Creativity is a process that takes courage; anytime you share your original ideas with the world, you risk being criticized.
Creativity is associated with intrinsic motivation, it is an end in itself. The work is not accomplished in order to receive an award. Creativity is correlated with self-actualization or fulfilling one’s talents and potential.

WES Honors Veterans This November

WES will be creating a memory board over the next few weeks from submissions of our school community. The board will be used to post names, photographs or short articles about family members who served in the military. The memory board will be on display for visitors and students to see the month of November. If you would like items returned please make sure the photos or articles are labeled with a child's name on the back.

Submissions should be turned into the front office.

Readvolution Reminder

Please continue to encourage your child to read and log their books on the Readvolution Website.  Please contact your child's teacher for login information.
