Positivity Project Character Strength: Curiosity
Curiosity refers to our innate urge for discovery and exploration -- and is a key element of our human desire for wisdom and knowledge. All individuals experience curiosity, but differ in their willingness to experience it.
People who are curious are more willing to endure risks. Curiosity is associated with being receptive to exploring new ideas, feelings, or values – which carry their own inherent risks and rewards.
Curiosity is what compels astronauts into outer space and submarines to the bottom of the ocean. It is hardwired into us -- and it's a defining element of human success.
Things you to do at home:
Add Curiosity Phrases to your room. "I wonder__." "What is__?" "Why does __?"
Make a list of people / places / things that interest them
Encourage your children to research (or read about) something that they are curious about.
Health Assessments & Immunization Records
Kindergarten families and families new to North Carolina, please make sure that you have given us the NC Health Assessment from and completed Immunization Records before the 30th day of school. Mrs. Forman, our school's data manager, has sent reminders to all families missing any forms. The final due date for all records in October 1st. After that date, students missing any records are required to be excluded from school by North Carolina law. Thank you for helping us complete this important task and keep our students healthy.
Fourth Grade Service Project Thank You
Fourth grade students would like to thank the WES Community for collecting change for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. They raised $1307.69 for Duchenne Awareness. This was all in honor of Mrs. Foster’s son Nathan, who has DMD. Thank you for supporting them!
