Dear Dragonfly Families,
Thank you to all volunteers to support Picture Day this week! We could not have done it without your support. If your child missed our picture day on October 15th or you are interested in retakes, students are welcome to have a new picture taken on Tuesday, December 3rd.
As a friendly reminder, I’ve listed the guidelines for birthday celebrations below. Thank you for helping us protect instructional time.
Birthday Celebrations:

We celebrate every student (even those who have summer birthdays) via our morning news on or close to their birthdays. Classroom teachers also recognize students in their homerooms.

If you’d like to help your child celebrate at school feel free choose from an option below. We do this to minimize disruption to instruction and honor students. If your student does not recognize or celebrate birthdays/holidays, please let the teacher know so we can accommodate:

Send a pre-packaged store-bought snack (no cakes, no individual cupcakes, or any homemade treat). Check with the teacher first for allergies that may be in the classroom.

Send in a special item that students can use for school such as special erasers, cool pencils, crayons.

Bring or have lunch with your student.
Holiday Assistance:The holidays are upon us and St. Michael’s Catholic Church is offering holiday gift assistance to families in need in our community. Please do not share this link with anyone who does not have a child who attends Dillard Drive Elementary. Families may include all children in the home from ages 0-18. Please note that all gifts must be purchasable under the limit of $60. NO video games, bicycles or gift cards. Please complete the form below by Nov. 1st if you feel your family could use holiday assistance this year. Gift distribution will be held on Sunday, December 15, more details will be shared in the coming weeks.
DDMES Kindergarten families (those not in Spanish Immersion Classes)!
During the first quarter, your child has had the chance to explore our World Language Electives in French and Spanish. It’s now time for our Kindergarten students to choose which language they would like to study for the remainder of their time at Dillard Drive Magnet Elementary.

Durante el primer periodo tuvieron la oportunidad de tener clases de francés y español. Por lo tanto, deben elegir cuál idioma les gustaría estudiar durante el resto de su proceso académico que finaliza en quinto grado en nuestra escuela primaria Dillard Drive.
