As you all know, the school board approved our return to school for Wednesday, February 17th! We will return to the same schedule we were on in December with PreK-3rd grade and ECS students attending school daily and 4th and 5th grade students will attend on 3-week rotations (A,B,C weeks). Next I’ll send an email identifying your student’s cohort, which will be helpful for those who will be returning to school face to face for the first time.
Black History Month
The students are learning lots of important information about Black History and many contributions to the world. If you’d like to see some standards’ based videos and support lessons at home, have your student log into Discovery Education through their WakeID. There are lots of great videos available that show timelines, change over time, multiple perspectives, and the list goes on!
Final Picture Day: Thursday, February 11, 2021
Our final picture day will be next Thursday, February 11. Pictures will be taken in the gym. Please use the bus loop and walk up to the gym door. There will be a staff member there to conduct your child’s health screening. You must sign up for an appointment. Retakes can also be taken on February 11. Please return the pictures you have received. Pictures were sent home with the Supply Pick Up.
This is an update about our school yearbook! Yearbooks are now available for purchase! The cost is $12.00 for preorders. (The cost will go up to $15.00 after the books are delivered) Please use this link to place your order directly on the Jostens Yearbook page! Families who did NOT have their child’s portrait taken by Lifetouch at the school this fall, can submit a JPG image to the attached yearbook image folder. Candid photos can also be submitted. Please make sure any submitted image includes your child’s name. The last day to submit any photographs is 3/5, so this is the LAST CALL for portraits and candid images. We finished our middle of the year testing at 86% completion! The students met the school-wide challenge of hitting 80% completion and earned the reward of me and Mrs. Griffin doing something silly! Today you should receive a message from your child’s teacher about how our students took their mid-year benchmark testing on iStation during January. You can view your child's progress and access reports through the parent portal. If you need a new instructional sheet on how to access your Parent Portal, please reach out to your child’s teacher and they can provide an additional copy as these are specific to each child.
