December 11, 2020 Friday Message

Good afternoon families!

Good news! Our water bottle stations have been installed (see picture below). Thank you again for helping us raise money to upgrade our fountains!

Next week, those who registered for Virtual Academy for the Spring semester and those who registered to return to school will receive a confirmation letter. If you chose Virtual Academy for the entire year, you won’t receive any new communication. In January (after we return from winter break), new teacher assignments will be shared with families that switched to or from Virtual Academy.

For our carpool families: When it’s very cold outside in the mornings,  you may have your heat on high in your car. This impacts your student(s)’ body temperature and can cause it to be higher than expected. To help prevent delays for you with the rescreening process, please turn your heat down and/or roll your windows down while you wait to be screened. This will help body temperatures regulate and avoid you having to pull over in our rescreen area.

Enjoy your weekend!

~Dr. Sykes

Picture Day for Virtual Academy Families Tuesday, 12/15 1

Schedule an Appointment: https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/cxhkghhs/ .

(Everyone must have an appointment, Walk-ins are not permitted)

You must schedule an appointment using the link above. You will arrive and come through the bus loop where a staff member will conduct a Health Screening for your child and will escort your child into the gym for their picture.

When your child is absent:

If your child is absent, please communicate with your child’s teacher via DOJO, or email to let them know the reason. Please remember if your child is at home absent because they are sick, they must meet the following guidelines before they can return.

When a student can return to school:

A person can return to school when they can answer YES to ALL three questions:

1. Has it been at least 10 days since you first had symptoms? AND

2. Has it been at least 24 hours since you had a fever without using fever-reducing medicine (Tylenol/Motrin/Advil)? AND

3. Have your symptoms improved, including cough and shortness of breath? If a person has a negative PCR COVID-19 test, they can return to school once there is no fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines (Tylenol/Motrin/Advil) and they have felt well for 24 hours.

If the person has a negative rapid antigen test, they must stay home until follow-up negative PCR test, no fever for 24 hours (without the use of fever reducing medicine), AND they have felt well for 24 hours If a person receives confirmation of an alternate diagnosis from a health care provider that would explain the COVID-19-like symptom(s), they may return to school following normal school policies once there is no fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines (Tylenol/Motrin/Advil) and they have felt well for 24 hours.
