East Wake Middle School's Tara Jones named 2018 WCPSS School Social Worker of the Year

East Wake Middle School’s Tara Jones is the 2018 WCPSS School Social Worker of the Year.
Ms. Jones works tirelessly and effortlessly to ensure that students and their families receive the support they may need. She is always available, accessible, and truly cares about students and our community.
Ms. Jones’ relationship with students, families, and faculty has truly been wonderful. She goes on home visits, makes sure that all students are safe and accounted for, and makes sure families are provided the resources they may need.
Ms. Jones has changed so much at East Wake Middle School. She established a fun Cyber Cafe to reward students. East Wake Middle School is seeing an uptick in positive behaviors, especially attendance, as a result of Ms. Jones’ initiatives. Ms. Jones forged new partnerships with businesses and community members to generate more support for East Wake Middle School students.
Students and families love all the programs and supports Ms. Jones has put in place for them. Teachers appreciate the way she takes care of student needs so that they can focus solely on instructional needs.
