Wake STEM's GSA Group
The Wake STEM Early College High School GSA club was founded by Mr. Ryan Haymore in order to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ students and allies. In this day and age, society has strived to become more accepting of LGBTQ+ students and adults. The purpose of this club is to push even further to educate, accept, and advocate for the community.
We seek to:
-
Help students find others like themselves for friendship and conversation.
-
Offer support for LGBTQ+ students and their allies.
-
Create safe space for communication especially for students questioning their gender identitiy/sexuality which can be a scary process.
-
A safe space for anyone to talk and communicate, no matter who you are.
-
Advocate for equity and educate others on LGBTQ+ issues and identities.

GLSEN
GLSEN believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. We are a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality.
Our research and experience has shown that there are four major ways that schools can cultivate a safe and supportive environment for all of their students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
