Capped Schools

Some schools in the Wake County Public School System have too many students. When this happens, the school board may cap enrollment.

Caps help manage crowding and keep learning environments strong. They are used in areas that are growing fast and have high enrollment.

Some schools have a feeder pattern cap. Feeder pattern caps are different from other school caps. This cap works differently and students can be added to this type of waitlist as early as kindergarten. Only students who live in the base attendance area and have enrolled in a school can be added to the feeder pattern waitlist.
