This is my second year at Brier Creek, but I have been in the business of education for almost 25 years. I have taught in five different states and my experiences range from classroom teacher for grades first through fifth, librarian, reading specialist, and preschool director. I received my BS in Elementary Education from Elizabeth City State University and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
Growing up with ten brothers and sisters, I have a passion for education because I know that education has opened doors of opportunities for me that statistics said would be closed. Each child has a purpose and teachers have a unique part to play in helping them discover that purpose.
When I am not at school, you can find me crafting, traveling, volunteering, or watching a sport. I am married to my wonderful husband, Scott. We have two children. Our daughter, Raven just graduated from Vanderbilt University and our son is a middle school student.
