Here are our important announcements for this week:

1.) On April 24th, students were given a chance to view their PowerSchools account (and/or given a printout) to check their status before we complete the process of calculating the end of year Honors & Principal’s Lists.  All three of the previous quarters as well as the first half of quarter 4 will be calculated. For Q4, students must have all missing work in to each teacher by April 30 or the grade will remain a zero. The Q4 cutoff for tracks 1 & 2 will be May 1.  Calculations will then be made to determine Honors and Principal’s List recognitions for the end of the year programs. Please be sure to check PowerSchools as well to make sure your student has all of his/her work in on time. If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

2.) WCPSS is conducting the Panorama Family Survey again this school year.  One of the pillars within Vision 2020 is "Community Engagement," which centers around Parent Engagement.  In support of this, WCPSS will continue its successful Family Survey effort and aim to gather actionable data from all parents and guardians in the district.  Using this data, WCPSS school and district leaders will be able to both assess where they stand relative to their goals in Vision 2020 and better understand how they can align their resources to improve identified areas for growth.  The survey asks families about a variety of topics relevant to their experiences with their schools and district (barriers to engagement, family support, family efficacy, family engagement, school climate). All surveys will be administered from Monday, March 25 - Friday, May 3.  Parents/guardians with an email address on file with the district will be emailed a survey from Panorama. Parents and guardians will be asked to complete one survey per school that they have a child attending.

3.) Award Ceremony for DRMS will take place June 25th at 8:30-9:00. All parents are invited to attend, and there will be more information to come!

4.) Here are this week's upcoming assessments:

    • No School on May 1st
    • 6 Plus Math: Test Friday
    • Science: Test Friday
