Ms. Gilbert grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  At UNC Chapel Hill, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics in 2012. She has always had a passion for math and decided to take that passion into the field of education. After coaching a swim team for four years, she knew that working with elementary students was the best way for her to bring her love of mathematics to the classroom. She attended graduate school at Meredith College in Raleigh and received her Masters of Arts in Teaching in December of 2014. She absolutely loves teaching third grade, and is glad that she can call Baileywick her home. In her spare time, she enjoys watching the Tar Heels, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and spending time with family, friends and her dog, Tucker.
