    FALL 2018 DILLARD DRIVE SPORTS INFORMATION

    7th & 8th grade students from Centennial have the opportunity to play on the sports teams at Dillard Drive Middle School.  Students must have passed their classes from the previous school year (semester/final) to be eligible for the Fall sports and must be passing their current classes.  The Fall sports tryouts will be the week of August 27th for the following sports: Girls’ Volleyball, Girls’ Soccer, Football and Cheerleading.  All participants must have a completed physical form on file before they are allowed to tryout.  Make sure you have the updated form which says “2018-2019 WCPSS Middle School Athletic Participation Form” at the top.  They are available from Mr. Mazzeo.

    Transportation will NOT be provided to Dillard.  Parents should try and work out a carpool system

    in order to get their child to practices/games.

    Interest Meeting Tuesday, August 28th 3:15pm-4:15pm at Dillard. 

    Tryouts will begin Wednesday, August 29th 3:15-5:00.  The number of days for tryouts will depend on the number of girls that attend.

    Interest Meeting Wednesday, August 29th 3:30pm-4:00pm in Room #616 at Dillard. 

    Tryouts will begin Thursday, August 30th 3:30-5:00pm in the Dillard Gym for 8th Graders. Tryouts will begin Tuesday, September 4th from 3:30-5:00pm in the Dillard Gym for 7th Graders.  There is an additional Volleyball packet in addition to the physcial and concussion forms.

    Voluntary conditioning:  August 14th-August 24th (weekdays only) (*NO WORKOUT ON AUGUST 23rd due to Open House at Dillard)

    Time:   6-7:30pm at Dillard Drive (behind the school).  Physical form and other paper work should be brought along with water and cleats.

    Tryout dates:  August 28th-August 31st

    Time:  3:00pm-5:00pm (rides need to be at Dillard by 5:15pm).  If students did not attend the voluntary conditioning then paper work is due at this time.  Student-athletes may also bring water and cleats.

    CHEERLEADING

    There will be an informational meeting at Dillard Drive for potential cheerleaders on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 3:15-4:00pm in Room #803. All paperwork is due for cheerleading by August 31st.  There will a cheerleading tryouts on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 4th and 5th from 3:00-5:00pm at DDMS. There will only be one tryout for the 2018/2019 cheerleading squad. All participants must have a completed physical form on file before they are allowed to tryout. 

     

    Printable copies of the necessary forms are available on the Dillard and Centennial websites.  They are also available from Mr. Mazzeo and Ms. Herring.

    Parents will need to provide their own transportation to Dillard and students must have a ride home from Dillard by 5:30pm.

  • Students in grades 6th through 8th also have the opportunity to play intramural sports with their peers at Centennial after school through the intramural program.  More information can be found in the "After School Clubs" section of our website.
