Poor Internet Connection during Google Meet? Try this first!
It is important to understand that we cannot control many of the issues that affect an internet connection. A poor connection can happen on either end of the video conference (teacher and/or students). This can result in sound and/or video issues as well as losing connections to the video conference.
When you experience a poor internet connection on a video conference, try these troubleshooting tips.
- Mute your video. Video uses more bandwidth. By turning it off, you may be able to hear and see others better.
- Log out of the online class and rejoin the Google Meet (by either clicking the rejoin button or by clicking on the original link provided for the Google Meet.)
- Close any applications and browser tabs that are not needed at the time.
- Log out of the online class, restart your computer, and rejoin the Google Meet ((by either clicking the rejoin button or by clicking on the original link provided for the Google Meet.)
-
I Lost Connection?!
If you lose connection during a virtual class:
- Students are expected to rejoin the Google Meet if they lose connection.
- Still having trouble? Contact the Student Help Desk at 919-694-8100 or studenttechhelp.wcpss.net.
- You can also use the Join by Phone option if you are unable to rejoin by device.
