Grading
To create a simplified and consistent remote learning experience, all RMS teachers will be using a new grading system for the coming year. Most work will receive grades in Google Classroom. But only project, tests, quizzes and other big assignments that show how much a student has learned about a topic at the end of the learning will be carried over into PowerSchool. These will be labeled as "Power" Assignments in Google Classroom. The student's overall grade for each quarter will be calculated from these Power Assignments.
In one other change for this year, teachers will use a Total Point system rather than weighted categories. This system is much easier for students to calculate their own grade, because they simply add up the points that they have earned from Power Assignments and divide it by the total points that were possible from Power Assignments.
