Ms. Palmer
I am originally from upstate NY & moved to NC in 2005, which is when I began my teaching career. I have always taught the upper elementary grades (4th or 5th) & have a passion for educating young minds. I have two little boys whom I enjoy spending quality time with exploring, playing, and going on adventures. My weakness is macaroni & cheese. I can never turn it down because it is my absolute favorite food EVER!

Mr. Miltenberger
My name is Tom Miltenberger, and this is my eigth year teaching in Wake County. I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at South Lakes Elementary! Before moving to North Carolina, I have lived for 13 years in Central Pennsylvania with my mother, father, youngest brother, and our two dogs, Annie and Sadie. I received my degree in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2010. Prior to receiving my degree, I worked at Bellefonte Area School District as a substitute teacher, learning support classroom aide, and varsity/junior high football coach. I enjoy spending time with my family and our dogs, cooking/eating, reading, watching sports (especially football), going to the movies, working out, and outdoor activities. I have one older brother, two younger brothers, three nieces, and two nephews. My father was in the Army for 23 years and during that time I had the opportunity to live in a variety of places, including six years in Germany. I am very excited about being a part of the South Lakes Family and looking forward to working with students, parents, and colleagues to make this year a very enjoyable and successful school year!

Mr. Velasquez
My name is Anthony Velasquez and I am from Youngstown, Ohio. In my free time, I love playing baseball, basketball, football or golf. I am also a big Cleveland sports fan! This is my sixth year as a teacher. I have taught 4th grade for two years and 5th grade for the last three years in Johnston County. I am excited for my first year teaching in Wake County. As a teacher, I want students to make sense of ideas and apply what they learn to help them think critically. In turn, this will help them solve problems and become lifelong learners.

Mrs. Eiseman
My name is Katie Eiseman and I am so excited to be a part of the South Lakes family! I was born and raised in Bahama, North Carolina. I attended Appalachian State University and graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in Harnett County, where I taught for eleven years. I have experience teaching both fourth and fifth grade, but fifth grade is by far my favorite. Teaching children and watching them learn and grow has been the most rewarding job for me. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and shopping.
