This will be my 3rd year teaching Kindergarten! Before staying home to raise my 4 kids, I was a middle school teacher and then a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher. I am so happy to be back in the classroom and LOVE seeing the AH HA moments of 5 and 6 year olds. I enjoy being outside walking, gardening and going on our boat in the beautiful lakes in this area. I love to read, cook, paint and redo furniture, and spend time with family and friends. I live in Holly Springs with my husband, 4 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats and some fish! My 4 children Thomas(22), Patrick(20), Fisher(18) and Livi(16) are my joys! I love being Mrs. H and will love your children like my own!
Mrs. Jennifer Coufal
I am originally from Lake City, Pennsylvania. I graduated Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and moved to the Raleigh area to peruse my dream of becoming a teacher. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I love children and watching as they learn and become amazing little people. I believe that teachers greatly help influence who children will become. A great teacher will encourage, inspire, and guide their students to incredible futures. This will be my 16th year of teaching (11 years in kindergarten, 4 in first grade, 1 year of a kindergarten/first grade combination class). I have a duel degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood education. I will be starting my master’s degree in special education in the spring. In my free time I love reading (I read A LOT), crocheting, being outdoors, and spending time with my family and friends.
Ms. Jenelle Lelito
Hello!! My name is Jenelle Lelito and I am very excited to be part of the South Lakes team! I have been teaching for 3 years and truly believe it is the best job in the world. My passion is Kindergarten because I get to see them grow and develop their own personality. They spend the day having new experiences that creates a spark for learning! I attended UNCW and left the beach after graduation to come home to Raleigh. My husband is a huge NC State fan, so by default I am as well! We got married in April and I will slowly be transitioning to Mrs.Brownlee this year. We have a very special dog that reminds me of my love for animal rescue. In my free time I enjoy doing DIY projects and being creative with decorating our house. I can’t wait to meet everyone this year! See you at the lake!

Ms. Tricia McKay
My name is Tricia McKay and I’m so excited to be a South Lakes Sea Turtle! I was born and raised in the small town of Romeo, Michigan. I attended Western Michigan University (Go Broncos!) and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Teaching children and helping them grow to their potential has always been my passion. I moved to North Carolina in 2005 and taught 2nd grade for several years at Davis Drive Elementary in Cary. I took some time off to raise my two wonderful daughters, Riley and Cailyn, before I decided to go back to work as an instructional assistant at Fuquay Varina Elementary School. I am TURTLEY excited to be back in the classroom as a kindergarten teacher this year. In my free time I love to travel to new places with my husband and children, craft, do puzzles, watch movies and shop. I started there when that school opened five years ago! Before that I was a Teacher Assistant at Cooper Elementary in Johnston County for six years.. I live in Clayton with my husband Joe. My four children are grown and I became a "Nana" in December. I absolutely love being an Instructional Assistant in in kindergarten... for more reasons than I could list. Honestly, I just love the kids and I am grateful to be part of their school experience. I enjoy about anything that has to do with animals or the outdoors and I love sharing those interests with the students I work with. Joe and I are beekeepers, we try to landscape for wildlife, we keep some chickens (among other things) and I also volunteer to rehab turtles for the NC State Turtle Rescue Team!
