Dear Wildcat Parents and Guardians,
I hope that the school year has started smoothly for you and your children. Our staff has been working hard to ensure a smooth transition to the 2017-2018 school year.
We did not meet our projected student enrollment and as the Administrator over the science department I am writing to share with you an unfortunate situation. As an unforeseen consequence, we do not have allocated funding to hire the vacant science position. In order to balance the science department schedule, we have made the difficult decision to collapse several science electives.
The following courses were collapsed:
Marine Ecology 1A, 2B, 4A
Forensic Science 3B
Research Methods and AP Biology 3A and 3B
We have adjusted your student's schedule to move them to another available science elective (Astronomy, Anatomy, Forensics, Marine Ecology or Research Methods AP Biology 2A and 2B). All students impacted have received a new schedule. If this solution is not of interest, I encourage you or your student to contact their counselor as soon as possible to find another available course in which they are interested.
I know that this situation causes concern. If you have any questions or concerns about the changes to your child’s schedule, please do not hesitate to contact me (919) 850-8787 or email@example.com.
