Information about PARKING SPACES for 2017/18 School Year

The following updated information is intended for Broughton High School rising seniors and juniors, their parents, and their guardians:
    • A total of 150 parking spaces have been made available for student parking in the 2017 -2018 school year.  All student spaces are located in the parking lot(s) fronting Peace Street. The cost is the same as last year, $170.  Parking tags can be paid for using cash or checks and money orders made out to “BHS”. Rising seniors and juniors, who have completed 25 hours of community service for each completed year of attendance at Broughton High School, had the opportunity to sign up for entry into the parking lottery in the main office during May.  Parking assignments have been made as a result of a random drawing lottery (with a priority of assignments being given to rising seniors).  All available spaces have been assigned.  The names of students not selected for parking are being maintained on a standby list and will be notified and offered a space, in list order, should a space become available throughout the course of the school year.

The students who have been assigned a parking spot will receive a notification card through the mail during July.  These cards should be used as a temporary parking tag /card which will be good for the first two weeks of the 2017 - 2018 school year. A map showing the location of parking spaces will also be provided on the back of the notification card. The temporary parking tag /card should be displayed on the dashboard of students’ vehicles while parking on campus, until a permanent tag is purchased. Permanent parking tags will go on sale in the school cafeteria starting on August 30st and students must purchase their permanent tags by September 8thin order to retain their assigned parking space.  Should spaces not be purchased by the close of business of September 8ththose spaces not paid for will be offered for redistribution to the students on the standby list.
