Advanced Learning/AIG

We are committed to identifying and supporting students with academic and intellectual gifts in kindergarten through 12th grade.

We recognize students with advanced academic potential and provide:

  • Differentiated instruction in core subjects
  • Enrichment activities that extend learning
  • Accelerated learning pathways when appropriate

These opportunities ensure students are challenged and supported as they grow.

Our Approach to Identification

We use a comprehensive identification process that considers multiple measures of student ability. This helps us match services to each student’s needs, strengths, and interests.

Why It Matters

Gifted learners need support not only academically, but socially and emotionally. Our programs:

  • Encourage curiosity and creativity
  • Foster critical thinking
  • Promote confidence and growth

We believe in every student’s potential and work with families and educators to help them thrive.

  2. Reach out to the AIG contact at the school.
  3. Talk with the principal if you need additional support or clarification.
  4. Contact the district AIG Program office if your questions aren’t resolved at the school level.

You can also review NC AIG standards online. We’re here to partner with you to support your child’s academic growth.
