Can I go to school or work after I’ve been exposed to someone positive for COVID19?
Exclusion from school or work after an exposure is no longer recommended by NCDHHS.
Individuals exposed to Covid-19 do not have to stay home from school or work if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive COVID-19 test.

Should I wear a mask after I’ve been exposed to COVID-19?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, masks can help protect you and others from COVID-19. North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services recommends you wear a mask:
- You are at high risk for severe illness
- You are unvaccinated or not up-to-date on your vaccines
- You have COVID-19 or were exposed to the virus
- You want an added layer of protection
- You are in a high-risk setting
