I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and attended the University of Dayton. After college, I worked in education for 3.5 years and then went on to work in the non-profit sector for 11 years. During that time, I moved from Ohio to Saranac Lake, NY for 5.5 years, to Colorado Springs, CO for about a year, to Asheville NC for about a year, and then to Lexington, VA for 2.5 years. Returning to the traditional classroom was always in my mind, and that's where I've been for the last 10 years! I taught 3^rd grade for 4 years, worked as a testing coordinator and academic coach for 2 years and have taught 5^th grade for the last 4 years. My husband and I, along with our sweet puppy, Myla, love spending time in the mountains, visiting with family and friends, exercising, and cheering on the Durham Bulls!
